Here is a sweet little family I got to photograph some months back. Dad is in the military and made it back just in time for the birth of their second son. So glad we got pictures in time, lol!

I will have some Monday morning openings in September and October. Email or call for availability. Fall gets a little crazy with sessions, so expect a minimum of 4 weeks before you can view your entire gallery to order pictures. I will do a mini gallery for each session that will mostly focus on Christmas/Holiday card templates. There is a small window of time for me to edit, get cards proofed, send in orders and get back in time for you to send out before Christmas. The rest of your gallery will be finished after I take care of the card orders from the all of the Fall sessions I've done.
Also, because my sessions are limited, I will need to receive your session fee deposit within 1 week of booking your session date or your date will be forfeited and go to someone on the waiting list.

Up, Up, and AWAY! The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 2010

Every year our family goes to the Balloon Fiesta! It's so much fun, and it never seems to get old. Our kids don't even mind getting up super early for the dawn patrol.

We get to walk around and watch the balloons inflate and then take off! The colors and shapes are a feast for the eye! We like to go on the "Special Shapes" morning...there are so many cool balloons!

We also enjoy the homemade breakfast burritos that my husband makes for us (he gets up even earlier) and the hot cocoa that we pack and take for the early morning event.

FALL UPDATES

I just wanted to update my session availability. This is a really busy time of year for pictures and in order to keep up the quality of my work and get orders on time, I have limited my sessions this year. (Not to mention I want to stay a happy mom and wife for my family!)

I always try to post sneak peeks of my current session on my blog (usually the day of). It will take 2-3 weeks from the date of your session to get your online gallery completed. The quicker you decide on and order from your gallery the quicker you will receive your prints. I will be taking cash, check and I can also take payments through PayPal for an additional fee.

Here's an update:

• I have no more sessions open in September.

• I have a few more session dates open for October and November.

• I will not be doing any more sessions after November 13th.

• If you want to order Christmas or Holiday cards for the upcoming season, orders must be placed and

paid for on or before November 20th.

• Any print orders that you want to receive in time for gifts must be placed and paid for on or before November 20th. If you miss this deadline I can order for you in January 2011.

• I may be doing a Halloween Mini Session on the afternoon of Saturday, October 30th. Please email me if you are interested.

I Knew This Day Would Come.... First Day of School

I knew this day would come...my youngest of 5 started kindergarten today. Where did the time go? He's not a baby anymore, nope...he's a "big kid" now. I kept it together until I dropped him off at his classroom..kept in the tears until I left the classroom. On to a new stage in my life. I will be plenty busy, a little freer, but it's funny that we long for that quiet in the house, and now that it's here...I don't like it! Well at least they will be home this afternoon and I will have hopefully gotten some work done. I think this day was harder than sending my first off to school...well, I cried then too.

My little guy was so excited this morning and he's been counting down the days for weeks now. I hope he has a great day! His big brother was so helpful to him this morning.

Back At The Ranch {Northern New Mexico Photography}

This past week I got to visit family in Northern New Mexico. One of our favorite things to do is go to my uncle's ranch. When I was little I loved going to the ranch and seeing all of the animals and especially liked getting to ride on a horse. My kids also enjoyed roaming around on the ranch, and getting to see all of the calves. My kids loved my uncle's new blue heeler pup (he's about 9 mos. old) and got to watch him herd the cattle. He is still in training and it is a sight to see! They are really intelligent dogs and are a great asset to a ranch. I just love his beautiful coat.

I always love checking out the wild flowers and we found these about 20 miles away from the ranch. These purple "flowers" looked fluffy like a dandelion, but upon closer inspection were actually really spikey. They are probably weeds, but aren't they cool looking?

Last week I had the privilege of going to girl's camp with our church. I got to be out in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. I got to meet new people (and some new bugs) and spend some camp time with my daughter who was also there. It was fun to be camp photographer and get fun pics of the girls and all of the activities, but I also snuck away and went on a nature hike with a sweet friend and I took these pics. Being out in this gorgeous area made me think of my favorite primary song:

High School...wow, seems like just yesterday I was cramming for finals, and crossing fingers I'd pass Geometry! I definitely remember the excitement of graduation, looking forward to college and the tearful goodbyes to friends as we all went on our different paths. Fresh Faces Contest for High School Seniors

I'm looking for 2 high school senior representatives to advertise for me for the 2010-2011 school year. If you have a son or daughter that is outgoing and wouldn't mind spreading the word about my senior photo sessions, please sign up. If your son or daughter is chosen you will receive a free senior session ($125 value) and discounts on prints and products ordered.
If you know any senior age kids please spread the word about this contest!

To enter:
• Your son or daughter must be a high school senior attending a local high school for the upcoming fall 2010-2011 school year.

• Send a 1 snapshot of your son or daughter with parental consent to post it on my blog to hcrjfrandall@msn.com.

• They must write a short paragraph telling me why they would make an awesome Senior Rep for Naturally Sweet Photography, send that in with your photo.

• Their photo and paragraph will be posted on my blog with parental permission to be voted on by my fb and blogger followers.

• Deadline for your photo and paragraph is May 15th, 2010.

• One young man and one young woman will be chosen.

Hopping Into Spring!

Last week was spring break for my kids and we had a chance to spend some time with some cute little critters. Some friends of ours raise rabbits and graciously let us spend some time with them for a fun photo session. The kids had such a fun time with these little guys! It was the day before St. Patrick's Day when we did the session and that night my kids made their leprechaun trap...my 5 yr old says "those leprechauns are tricky making us think they are rabbits!" It took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about, but a week previous we watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People. In that movie the king of the leprechauns disguises himself as a rabbit. We had a great laugh...kids don't miss a thing!

My son turned 8 last month and I was excited to finally get his birthday session done. He is such a great kid with a charming personality and sweet character. We had a lot of fun...can't believe how fast he's growing up! I love him so much!

This past weekend my family and I got to go to AZ to visit family.. This is my sweet baby nephew who I got to meet for the first time. Isn't he adorable? I'm sure his grandparents in Japan can't wait to meet him. He is such a good baby!

My youngest boys have their birthdays a week apart from each other and today they each got to pick out their birthday present. The funny thing is that when my husband and I went to look for bikes a couple of weeks ago we saw a couple we thought they might like, but decided it would be more fun for them to pick them out instead of surprising them. Wouldn't you know they picked the exact ones we did! Oh well, it was still a fun trip to the store with our birthday boys!

This is the second time I got to photograph these sweet girls. They are such a joy to work with! I thought it was so special that their wonderful mom made their beautiful baptism dresses for them out of her wedding dress train. She is an amazing seamstress and you can tell she made these dresses with love!

Fun in the Foothills

We had so much fun today as a family exploring and hiking in the foothills east of Albuquerque. To our surprise there was plenty of snow to play in and the kids took advantage of that! They found lots of animal tracks in the snow and it was fun to guess what made them. It was such a beautiful day and it was so wonderful to spend it with the people I love the most!

This is the "Mom I'm hiding a snowball behind my back" smile! Love it!

I can't believe this year is coming to an end! I feel incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family. They have been so supportive of me and so encouraging, especially my sweet husband who really believed in me and urged me to start my own photography business this year. I am so thankful for all of the fun sessions I got to do, and the great clients/friends who I got to photograph! I put together some of my favorites...and obviously it was hard for me to just choose a couple!

I feel so blessed to be able to do photography as a part time business, especially since I love it so much! I love being a full time mom and taking pictures of my kids is one of my favorite things to do. Pictures have always been important to me and I love looking through our family scrapbooks and I'm amazed at how fast time flies....kids grow so fast!

Thank you for such a great year! I'm looking forward to 2010. I hope your new year is happy and blessed!

There were some really adorable babies born this year and I had the privilege of taking their pictures. I love color and I love to use my creativity when I set up a session. I love to use fun hats, headbands, and blankets. I'm getting quite a collection! Newborns are fun to pose and are best photographed within the first 2 weeks of life. Babies are so precious and are such a blessing! Here are some of my favorite shots.

Yesterday was a real treat to be able to hang out with one of my best friends from high school and her family! We hadn't seen each other in...well, several years. They came to visit family here for Thanksgiving. She is still as fun and sweet as she was in high school! It was so much fun to meet her cute kids and husband. It really was a BLAST to spend some time with her! Can't wait to hang out again J!

November has been a busy month! I've had a lot of fun with senior, baby and family sessions. I am booked for the rest of November. I will take on a limited amount of sessions for December.
